Statutory Rape is one of the toughest charges to defend against because it is one of the few criminal offenses with strict liability. Strict liability means even if a girl/boy tells the other person that they are of age you are still guilty of this offense if they are actually under the age of 16.

Prior to hiring me, my client was sentenced to 16 years in prison and did every day of it. After he got out of prison, he had updated his address more than five times and was following the registration guidelines to a tee. However, the sheriff’s office had gotten word that no one was living at my client’s mobile home anymore.
